Grilled Shrimp Caprese

The Grilled Shrimp Caprese at Olive Garden is selling for $16.50.  This site will give you the restaurant copycat recipe so that you can make it at home for a lot less.  Grilled Shrimp Caprese contains marinated grilled shrimp served over angel hair pasta with melted mozzarella, fresh basil and tomatoes in a garlic butter sauce.

Olive Garden Recipe for Grilled Shrimp Caprese

Ingredients for Marinated Tomatoes

  • 1-1/2 pounds of Roma tomatoes, cored and cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 20 medium fresh basil leaves, stems removed and cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 2 Tbsp extra olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • salt to taste

Ingredients for Sauce

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1-1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 pound of medium shrimp, peeled and de-veined


  1. Preheat the broiler.
  2. Combine tomatoes, olive oil, basil, garlic, Italian seasoning and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Cover and set aside to marinate for at least 1 hour.
  4. Add butter to a large skillet.
  5. Stir in white wine and bring to a boil.
  6. Add heavy cream and Parmesan cheese and bring to a simmer.
  7. Let sauce reduce to desired consistency.
  8. Add cooked, drained pasta and marinated tomatoes to the skillet.
  9. Stir to coast the pasta with the sauce.
  10. Top with mozzarella cheese.
  11. Grill or sauce shrimp until done.
  12. Place skillet under the broiler to melt the cheese.
  13. Top pasta with cooked shrimp.

The recipe serves 4 people.

They have taken it off the menu in a lot of areas. We can't get it in Jacksonville, Florida anymore either.
